Yiyili Aboriginal Community School is a small independent school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 10 based in the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia.
The problem
Yiyili were struggling with multiple systems and records in various places, lacked visibility for student attendance and needed a simpler way to submit compliance reports. As a result of this they identified the need for a flexible Student Information Platform that could provide one single source of truth for the school’s data. There were additional barriers to finding a Student Information Platform being a small remote school.
Our school has limited resources; we don’t have full-time administrators or a large budget. We needed a platform that was affordable for a school of our size that has a current enrolment of 66 students

The solution
Yiyili Aboriginal community school partnered with Education Horizons to implement a new cloud-native Student Information Platform, Zunia, to manage its complex student information such as tracking attendance and compliance reporting.
Zunia is simple and intuitive for educators to use and has relevance and flexibility in small schools. Tracking student attendance is made easier for schools that have high levels of student transiency and the compliance reporting engine will allow us to meet complex reporting requirements, including the collection of Census data and NAPLAN
